Peter Recupero, DO, MBA serves as the Designated Institutional Officer for the GME Program, as well as the Program Director for the Transitional Year Program.

Dr. Recupero is Boarded by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine, American Board of Internal Medicine - Internal Medicine, and American Board of Internal Medicine - Nephrology.

Graduating from Kansas City College of Medicine and Bioscience Medical School in 1999, Dr. Recupero completed both his Internship Year and Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Connecticut Medical Center. In 2004, Dr. Recupero completed a Nephrology Fellowship at the Maine Medical Center in Portland.

He has been a hospitalist with HCA since 2007. Prior to becoming DIO, Dr. Recupero was the Program Director of the Internal Medicine Residency from 2010-2013.
